Productinformatie

The Hommage 60 Ultralight is a tall, slender red wine glass from L'Hédoniste. The glass is 249 mm tall and the bowl measures 95 mm at its widest. The wine sits at the bottom, where the bowl is roomiest. Above the wine there is a tall, empty space in which the aromas gather before they reach the rim.

From the widest point, the almost straight sides lean slightly inwards to a thin rim. The stem is long and thin, the foot flat. The glass is machine-blown using Lehmann's Ultralight process. Each glass bears the Lehmann signature.

The L'Hédoniste collection

L'Hédoniste is one of Lehmann's Signature lines. The house created it with Gérard Basset, whom Lehmann presents as the World's Best Sommelier. The idea that every detail counts in tasting comes from Basset; Lehmann keeps the shapes slender and understated. If you want to give a red wine more room, the Hommage 72 Ultralight from the same line has the wider bowl. According to Lehmann, white and rosé belong in the Hommage 69 Ultralight.

Care

The glass is dishwasher safe, preferably on a glassware programme. Washing by hand in hot water without detergent gives the finest result. Dry with a microfibre cloth and never twist the foot and the bowl in opposite directions, or the stem will snap.

About Lehmann

Lehmann is a house from Reims, in the heart of Champagne, specialising in wine and champagne glasses. Its collections are conceived and designed in Reims, the Signature lines in collaboration with sommeliers and chefs. The glass itself is made by selected glassworks within the European Union, and all its tasting glasses are made of cristallin, lead-free crystal. On the machine-blown lines the rim is cold-cut. According to Lehmann, this produces a strong glass that stands up to daily use and still comes close to the finesse of mouth-blown crystal.
