SPECIALIST IN CHAMPAGNE
We are often called the champagne specialist, but for us it goes further than that. We are passionate enthusiasts who are constantly searching for champagnes that radiate craftsmanship, daring and innovation. Our focus is on champagnes that have a character of their own and rise above the standard. It is these unique creations that inspire us and that we import to the Netherlands with great care.
Our mission is to share these exceptional champagnes with fellow enthusiasts and the culinary elite. We believe that champagne is more than a luxury product; it is an art form in which craftsmanship, terroir and technique come together.
WHO WE ARE
Selected by Dronk is run by Danielle and Jim Dronk. Jim earned the Champagne Master-Level from the Wine Scholar Guild, a year-long certification on the wines and the viticulture of Champagne, and handles the buying and the selection. We are not a shop that orders from a wholesale catalogue. We buy directly from eight champagne growers and taste at the cellar table before we take anything with us. Which also means driving home empty-handed on a regular basis.
THE POWER OF COMPLEXITY AND QUALITY
We focus on champagnes made by independent winegrowers using distinctive techniques. These techniques give the champagne depth, complexity and character. When making our selection, we pay close attention to the price-quality ratio. We do not buy a brand or packaging, but select on the essence: the content and the quality in the glass.
With this philosophy we bring an exclusive collection of champagnes to the Netherlands, especially for enthusiasts who look beyond the familiar offering. We want to inspire our customers to appreciate the essence of champagne: the taste, the story and the craftsmanship.
