Our top 5 for Champagne Day

From a mature 2015 that is drinking perfectly right now to a Pinot Noir that has just arrived: five houses and five styles.

  1. La Villesenière · Harmony 2015

    60% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir · 2015 · Boursault · 3 g/l

    Matured, and drinking beautifully now

Harmony comes solely from the 2015 harvest and is made entirely in oak. We bought a lot of it at the time, precisely because it could age so well. Now it is drinking perfectly.

  2. William Saintot · Prestige

    70% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay · base 2022 · Premier Cru · 2.65 g/l

    Built on the 2022 harvest

Prestige is Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Premier Cru villages of Avenay Val d'Or and Bisseuil, from the first pressing only. 70% comes from the 2022 harvest, 30% from a solera running since 2010. For us, that base is exactly what makes the difference.

  3. Simon Rion · Réserve

    50% Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay · base 2013 · Courmas · 6 g/l

    Base 2013, and still fresh

Réserve rests on a 2013 base wine, completed with 40% perpetual reserve, and spent more than eight years on the lees. You almost never find champagne of this age at this price, and it still has a lovely freshness.

  4. Aurore & Florian Laval · La Pâture 2020

    100% Pinot Noir · 2020 · single plot in Boursault · 1.2 g/l

New: Pinot Noir from a single plot

New to our range: 100% Pinot Noir from a single plot in Boursault, with vines planted in 1976 and 1982. The plot faces north, and you can taste it. It is fresh, with plenty of ripe yellow and red fruit.

  5. Bolieu · Fleur de Craie

    100% Chardonnay · base 2016 · Bassuet, Coteaux Vitryats · 6.5 g/l

A benchmark for Blanc de Blancs

Fleur de Craie is 100% Chardonnay from the chalk soils of Bassuet, in the Coteaux Vitryats. It rests on a 2016 base, with 30% perpetual reserve dating back to 2002. For us, this is a benchmark for Blanc de Blancs.
