This prestigious cuvée uses only the purest and most concentrated grape juices, extracted during the first gentle pressing. The Prestige is aged 80% in oak barrels and 20% in stainless steel. The wines are blended using the perpetual method, resulting in a premium blend of at least eight vintages. A small portion is drawn off annually and then aged on lie in the bottle for an average of 20 months.
What is Extra Brut Champagne?
Extra Brut Champagne contains even less sugar than Brut, between 0 and 6 grams per liter. This results in an extra-dry style with pure, pronounced flavors. Extra Brut is popular with connoisseurs who appreciate a clean, mineral champagne with plenty of freshness.
What is a solera method in Champagne?
The solera method in Champagne is an aging technique in which wines from different vintages are continuously blended to create a consistent and complex style. This system, familiar from sherry production, is used in Champagne to give non-vintage cuvées additional depth and refinement. This method involves storing a portion of the reserve wines in large barrels or stainless steel tanks and adding new wine from the latest vintage each year. This creates a blend that fuses older and younger wines, adding richness, complexity, and a unique signature of the house.
What does Tête de Cuvée mean in Champagne?
Tête de Cuvée is the term used to describe a house's most prestigious and high-quality champagne. These cuvées are made from the finest grapes and exclusively from the first pressing of the must, giving the wine optimal purity and finesse.
