In the village of Baslieux-sous-Châtillon, nestled in the rolling hills of the Vallée de la Marne, nature is guided, not controlled. At Liébart-Régnier, they live in harmony with the seasons, with each cuvée paying tribute to the vibrancy of the terroir. L'Enclos 2020 reflects this philosophy in its purest form: a rare champagne made exclusively from Petit Meslier, an old varietal that has become rare in the Champagne region. This grape, with its natural freshness and aromatic tension, finds a unique expression of power and finesse in the clay-limestone and marl soils of Baslieux-sous-Châtillon.

The young vines, averaging just eight years old, give L'Enclos vibrant energy and precision. Vinification took place entirely in oak barrels, developing structure and complexity, while natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts preserves the grape's authenticity. After light cold stabilization and minimal filtration, the wine was bottled without dosage (Brut Nature), allowing the pure essence of Petit Meslier and the terroir to fully express itself. With only 1,100 bottles produced, this is a rare, handcrafted champagne that embraces power and elegance in a single breath.

    Pale golden yellow in color with a lively, refined mousse. The nose reveals delicate aromas of white flowers, green apple, and citrus, complemented by subtle nuances of toasted hazelnut and vanilla from the oak aging. The palate is lively and precise, with flavors of lime, pear, and a light spice. The texture is creamy yet clear, with a wonderful balance between freshness and roundness. The finish is long and mineral, with a salty note that invites another sip. L'Enclos 2020 is an expressive, pure, and rare champagne that revives the forgotten power of Petit Meslier.

    Serve between 10 and 12°C.

  • Productieproces

    The Petit Meslier grapes from the lieu-dit L'Enclos were hand-harvested and carefully pressed. Fermentation occurred spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in oak barrels, without the addition of commercial yeasts. After a complete malolactic fermentation, the wine was allowed to stabilize on its fine lees. Only a light cold stabilization and gentle filtration were applied to ensure clarity without compromising the character. The wine was then bottled without dosage to preserve the freshness and minerality of Petit Meslier.
