Productinformatie
The Jamesse Initial 30 comes from La Poétique, the Signature collection Lehmann developed with Philippe Jamesse, for years head sommelier at Les Crayères in Reims. The premise of that line is that champagne is wine and therefore deserves room. Hence this tulip-shaped bowl of 30 cl that tapers towards the top, rather than a straight, narrow tube.
The bowl runs to a point at the bottom, which gathers the bead into a single line. Above that there is enough volume for the wine to breathe, while the taper holds on to the aromas. At 233 mm tall and slim of stem, the glass stays elegant on a laid table.

The La Poétique collection
La Poétique is the line with which Lehmann took champagne out of the narrow flute. At Les Crayères, Philippe Jamesse poured for years from glasses with a wider bowl, because the wine shows more in them. That thinking runs through the whole series, from this Initial 30 to the Grand Champagne and the Synergie. If you want the same idea one size up, look at the Grand Champagne 30.
Care
The glass is dishwasher safe, preferably on a glassware programme. Washing by hand in hot water without detergent gives the finest result. Dry with a microfibre cloth and never twist the foot and the bowl in opposite directions, or the stem will snap.
About Lehmann
Lehmann has been blowing glass in Reims, in the heart of Champagne, for generations. The house develops its glasses together with sommeliers, and that knowledge goes into the machine-made lines as well. The rim is cut cold, which gives a glass that stands up to daily use and still comes close to the finesse of mouth-blown crystal.
