Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about Italesse

Where are Italesse glasses made?
Italesse was founded in 1979 by Claudio Barducci and has its headquarters in Muggia, near Trieste (Italy). All Italesse glasses are produced with Italian craftsmanship. The machine-blown series use the patented Xtreme® technology, while Leggerissimi glasses are manually hand-blown.
What is Xtreme® technology?
Xtreme® is Italesse’s patented production technique for machine-blown glasses. It ensures maximum strength through a single weld seam instead of the usual two, strengthening critical breaking points. Result: dishwasher safe, resistant to thermal shock, and ideal for intensive use.
What are Leggerissimi glasses?
Leggerissimi are Italesse’s mouth-blown crystal glasses. Hand-blown by experienced Italian glassblowers, ultra-thin, and extremely light. They offer the best aroma development and are the first choice of top sommeliers. Ideal for fine wines and gift occasions.
What is the difference between Xtreme and Leggerissimi?
Xtreme® is machine-blown, robust, and dishwasher-safe. Best choice for everyday use.
Leggerissimi is mouth-blown, ultra-thin, and premium. Best choice for special moments, at home, as a gift, or for top gastronomy.
Many Italesse series (such as T-Made, Etoile Sparkle) are available in both versions.
Which glass for which wine?
Champagne and sparkling: Etoile Sparkle, Privé Flute, Balloon Flute, Grand Balloon Flute.
White wine: Etoile Blanc, Trilogy 55, T-Made 55, Masterclass 48.
Red wine (light): Trilogy 49, Etoile Noir, Masterclass 70.
Red wine (Burgundy, Barolo): Trilogy 75, T-Made 70 / 75 / 95, Masterclass 90.
Water or cocktail: Cloud Tumbler, Kodama, Twist, Vertical Party.
Are Italesse glasses dishwasher-safe?
Yes, all Xtreme® glasses are fully dishwasher-safe. For Leggerissimi (mouth-blown) glasses, we recommend hand washing or a gentle cycle to give the ultra-thin wall maximum lifespan.
What is EcoVadis and why is it important?
EcoVadis is an internationally recognized sustainability assessment. Italesse was awarded the silver EcoVadis medal at the end of 2019 thanks to ethical production processes, employee rights, and investments in bio-materials.
What is the delivery time?
In-stock products are shipped within 2 business days. Not in stock? Then the delivery time is approximately 3 to 4 weeks, as Italesse glasses come directly from Trieste.
How many glasses are in a box?
Most Italesse glasses are delivered in a box of 6. Some series, including premium Leggerissimi variants, are delivered in a box of 2, making them perfect gifts. Check the product page for the exact box content.
Can I order Italesse glasses as a gift?
