Champagne William Saintot recently got new labels! The contents remain the same, only the look has changed. Starting at the end of this year, we'll also be selling bottles with the new label.

Why change labels?

Every so often, many Champagne houses change their labels. This is often done to give the bottle a fresh, new look. These changes can be small, such as changing a piece of text or modernizing the current label, but major changes are also common: a completely different color or design, as in this case. Champagne houses are often passed down from generation to generation, with each generation bringing something new. New cuvées are created, the blend of an existing Champagne is adjusted, or the bottle's appearance is modified, for example.

What does the label say?

Both the front and back labels are changing. The back contains all the important information. The new back label of Champagne William Saintot features information about the origins of Champagne and what goes into the blend. The label details the vintages of the grapes used in the bottle, the date of bottling, the dosage (grams of sugar per liter), and more. The label tells you exactly what's in the bottle.

In addition, the label features various brand labels, which can be seen as a kind of quality mark. These relate to, for example, the working methods used during the Champagne production process. Think of an environmentally friendly and sustainable process, for example, using sustainable cultivation methods. To be eligible to carry these labels, a winegrower must meet a number of (environmental) requirements. Champagne William Saintot is also affiliated with a trade association for winegrowing: the independent winemakers (Vignerons indépendants). Within this organization, too, several important requirements apply for participation. For example, winegrowers must respect their terroir, maintain and harvest their own vineyards, produce the wine themselves, bottle the wine themselves, and preserve winegrowing traditions.
